Custom MPO trunk cables, any length, 4 to 6 weeks

By Sanjay Ahuja, Jupiter Enterprises, Amsterdam · August 2026

Jupiter Enterprises supplies custom MPO/MTP trunk cables across Europe: 4 to 72 fibres, any length, singlemode or OM3/OM4 multimode, MPO to MPO or MPO to LC breakout, with the polarity built to your patching scheme. The manufacturers we represent build to order. Delivery is 4 to 6 weeks from purchase order, and the delivery date is confirmed in writing at order. Small runs are welcome, just ask. Write to hello@jupiter-enterprises.nl and you will have a reply within one working day.

What can be built

Fibre typeSinglemode G.652/G.655/G.657; multimode OM1 to OM5
End facePC or APC on MPO/MTP; UPC or APC on LC/SC/ST/FC breakout ends
Insertion lossStandard ≤ 0.35 dB typical; low-loss ≤ 0.2 dB typical
Return loss≥ 60 dB (APC, singlemode)
CableMini round to 5.0 mm; ribbon to 2.5 × 5.0 mm; PVC or LSZH
ComplianceIEC 61754-7, EIA/TIA-604-5

Cable type, transmission mode, connector type and polarity are all customised per order, and larger trunk and breakout builds run to 144 fibres and beyond (6 × 24F MTP trunks, 96F to 576F breakouts). If your drawing calls for a configuration that is not in this table, send it anyway and we will put it to the factory.

Why buying trunks got harder this year

The published supply deals of 2026 explain most of it. NVIDIA and Corning announced a long-term optical-fibre partnership in May 2026 (Corning), and STL's subsidiary announced a supply agreement worth over $1bn with a hyperscaler for AI data-centre build-outs the same month (STL). Capacity that is pre-sold to hyperscalers is capacity a mid-market buyer queues behind. The pattern buyers describe across this year's trade reporting: the quoted price was accepted, and the material still was not there when the project needed it.

A build-to-order line runs on a different queue. The date you get at order is the date the factory commits to in writing, which is something no European incumbent currently publishes for custom trunk work.

Who builds them

The manufacturers we represent have built fibre optics for more than 40 years, PDR World among them, with assemblies in service at Colt, Hitachi and Ribbon. Jupiter Enterprises is the commercial contact in Europe: specification, questions and scheduling run through our team in Amsterdam.

How to ask

Send the pull schedule or the line items as they are: fibre count, connector and end face each end, fibre type, length, polarity method, quantity. You will have a reply within one working day, and a written delivery date at order.

What does your trunk schedule look like?

Send the line items as they are to hello@jupiter-enterprises.nl. You will have a reply within one working day.
